Securing cargo - Wistra: Labelling lashing straps and nets

Selmsdorf, 18 June 2010 – WISTRA GmbH, a company specialised in the manufacturing of products for  securing cargo, is offering a new, flexible option for labelling and printing on WISTRA lashing straps and Safeguard cargo nets with immediate effect.

The company, which is based in Selmsdorf near Lübeck, has integrated a new printing machine into its production processes which, along with the company name and alphanumeric sequences, can also print company logos on the fabric of the lashing straps. Technology which has been specially developed enables this service for certain types of lashing straps and nets securing cargo, starting from a batch of ten units upwards. Combining this with an array of different strap colours greatly widens the choice when selecting the lashing straps manufactured in accordance with DIN EN 12195-2. Up until now, labelling was mainly carried out by way of photo plate printing.

The rotary flexso printing units used in this process, however, required large production batches to keep the costs at an economically viable level. Wistra’s intention in offering this service is to cater to the growing demand for clearly identifiable and durable labelling of lashing straps indicating ownership. The labelling is not only an effective protection against theft but also permanent advertising for the respective company.

WISTRA GmbH, based in Selmsdorf near Lübeck, produces a full-line range of products for securing cargo. This includes an extensive range of lashing straps with manifold options produced up to a lashing capacity (LC) of 10,000 daN, the tried-and-tested “Safeguard” nets for securing cargo, lashing tracks, shoring beams and cargo bars as well as decking beams and sliding decking beams.

Products developed in-house for securing cargo, such as the “GTS” and Safecon products for securing beverages and loads for IBC containers are part of the mid-sized company’s unique selling proposition. Other products for securing cargo, such as edge protection and anti-slip mats, round up the offering. In addition, WISTRA manufactures products under the name of Powerbrace which are rotary bar fastenings for containers, bodies and swap bodies.
